Check out Jenny and Antonio in Copán, their new blog about life in Honduras. I posted it as a link on the beacon bee so that we can check in with them regularly.
I read it on the flight down to South Carolina to see Hannah, my new niece. Of course, I was crying. It finally hit me that they actually moved to Honduras. I think before I thought that they were just on vacation and would be calling us any day to pick them up at the airport. I guess I'll have to wait at least a year for that.
Jenny and Antonio: Keep the blogs coming. Hearing all about your new neighbors (while they'll never compare to the beaconers) and getting to learn about what experiencing, makes you both feel closer. Nos vemos online.

Jenny and Antonio safely arrived in Copán Ruinas. Jenny will be the co-Director of the Mayatan School, a bilingual school. Antonio is still finalizing his plans down there. There's been talk of him running for mayor, based on his successful track record as the Alcalde de Beacon Place for 4 years. Contact Jenny if you are interested in donating money, supplies, books, or technology tools.
Some of the beaconers are heading down to Honduras in December to hang out and teach some workshops with the teachers and students. Contact Melissa or Alex if you want to join the group.
Jenny y Antonio, os echamos de menos ya!!! Nos vemos pronto en Honduras.

A couple more pics from the Philly trip. Pay close attention to Antonio's facial expressions. He loves getting his picture taken. The first is on Joanna and Dave's rockin' porch bar, complete with fishtank and TV. The other is at the now famous Tuckahoe Inn, the best South jersey has to offer :)
I know all of our friends from afar were particularly impressed by the sleek, cool atmosphere at the Tuckahoe Inn summer deck in South Jersey. At least drinks were cheap and good times were had.

I was wondering what to put on the bee. Don't have much to say, but thought you all might like to see a portrait Melissa and I recently had commissioned. I think the artist really captured us at our best. What do you think?

Kevin and Aimee got married on the lawn of the Cambridge City Hall on Friday, July 15th at 11:30am. It was beautiful and intimate ceremony.
Congrats to the newest beacon newlyweds! What a year for beacon weddings. Celebrations will continue in California in September.

The Penultima Beacon Brunch
The 3 year tradition went on hiatus (thank you Jenny for the correction. The beacon brunches aren't over!)on June 26th. Much to the chagrin of former beaconers, we didn't start brunch until well into the lunch timeframe.
Check back for more beacon photos from June.
