Jenny & Antonio are having a baby!
What? You didn't know? Where have you been? Jenny & Antonio will be welcoming the newest Beacon family member into this world sometime soon down in San Salvador. I know I can speak for all of the beaconers and say that we're terribly sad that we're not with them right now -- who wouldn't want 6-8 loud people in a cramped hospital room the day after you give birth to a living creature? Zia didn't seem to mind all of the excitement a year ago -- I don't think baby Jacobs Castro (or Casto Jacobs) would mind either.
Cathy and Tiki are throwing a shower for Jenny & Antonio this weekend in San Salvador. We're throwing a BBQ for them up here to be with them in spirit. And to celebrate some homecomings for beacon family members -- Josh and Christine, original beaconers, are moving back to the Boston area with their crew: Aidan, Dillon, and Shiva. And Laura is state-side for a few weeks! Welcome home!!

A rainy weekend in Boston

Jenny's parents, John and Gay, came to Boston for a Red Sox game and visit (unfortunately the game got rained out.) My parents were in town too so it was a meeting of the parents. Our moms got along swimmingly -- they immediately went shopping together while we waited at Zaftig's, a Jewish deli in Brookline. John had pancakes in honor of Antonio. It was great to have some of the beaconers' families meet.
