We're back in Boston from an amazing week in San Salvador with Jenny, Antonio, and Amina. Thank you for hosting us!
We went to the beach, visited an ecoparque/coffee farm, hit up a museum, ate non-stop, traveled to Suchitoto -- a small town outside of San Salvador -- and visited a lush hotel/resort on the beach complete with monkeys, roosters, pools, and our own personal attendent for the day, David, (yes, that was a bit strange and uncomfortable) and chilled out at Bella Vista, the Castro Jacobs home, watching movies, talking, eating, and playing with Amina. Unfortunately we didn't get to see Antonio play tennis but we did hang out poolside at the Centro Espanyol. The week flew by, as it always does when you're on vacation.
I'm already checking flights to go back for a visit. Until then, we're excitingly preparing for their visit to Boston in December/January and talking about a European vacation next year...
And we're practicing the Oompaloompa dance for our new video -- a favorite of Amina's (ok, of all of the adults as well).
Here are some photos from the trip. We have hundreds, as usual.

Yesterday Antonio, Alex, Amina and I spent the afternoon at the beach -- enjoying a lunch of fresh fish and seafood at Frida's and a quick dip in the Pacific.

Amina had a productive day learning how to drive. Today she's driving us to Suchitoto -- a colonial town outside of San Salvador. My, how fast she's growing up!
We arrived safely yesterday to San Salvador. For those who donīt know, our good beacon friends Jenny and Antonio moved down to Central America last year and are now in San Salvador with a new addition -- Amina.
Going through customs yesterday was a trip -- at the aduana the customs official took our declaration and then had me press a button that was attached to a semoforo -- a red-green stop light (I wish I took a photo). If the light turned red you had to have your bags searched. If it turned green, you could leave the airport without being searched. We passed. Which was a good thing -- the manchego tucked in my backpack for Jenny and Antonio did not get confiscated. Yesterday was a Spanish day -- beers poolside at the Centrol Espaņol, manchego with beers at the house, and homemade tortilla de patatas and gazpacho for dinner -- gracias Don Antonio!

Starting young...
Having already mastered Skype, Amina chats with Grandma and Grandpa down the shore.
